What We Replace
Every Piece of Glass on Your Vehicle
Polaris AutoGlass handles more than just windshields. If it's glass and it's on your vehicle, we can source and replace it — often with next-day turnaround.
Door Glass
Front and rear door windows — the most commonly broken glass on vehicles. We replace both tempered and laminated door glass for all makes and models.
Driver, passenger, rear left & right doors
Rear Windshield (Back Glass)
Full rear window replacement including defroster grid, antenna, and any embedded sensors or heating elements.
With defroster, heat grid, and wiper pass-through
Quarter Glass
Small fixed or sliding windows at the rear of the cabin. Often broken in vehicle break-ins and frequently overlooked — we stock these for popular makes.
Fixed, sliding, and opera window styles
Vent Glass
Small triangular windows at the front corner of doors. Commonly targeted in break-ins due to their small size and ease of access.
Front and rear vent windows
Sliding Rear Windows
Found on trucks and SUVs. We replace both the glass and the sliding mechanism when needed.
Manual and power sliding window systems
Sunroof & Moonroof Glass
Cracked or shattered sunroof panels can be replaced. We source OEM-equivalent panels for most makes and models.
Tilt, pop-up, and sliding glass panels

Common Causes
Why Side & Rear Windows Break
Unlike windshields, side and rear windows are typically tempered — they're designed to shatter completely on impact rather than crack. That means once they're broken, they must be replaced entirely, not repaired.
Vehicle Break-Ins
The most common reason. Thieves often smash vent or quarter windows for quick access. We work with insurance companies on vandalism and theft claims.
Hail Damage
Colorado's Front Range is one of the most hail-prone regions in the country. Large hail can shatter tempered side glass entirely.
Road Debris
Rocks and debris kicked up from trucks on I-25 or US-34 can strike and break side windows, particularly at highway speeds.
Regulator Failure
A failed window regulator can allow the glass to drop into the door, where it may shatter. We replace both the regulator and glass.
Temperature Stress
Existing micro-cracks can propagate rapidly with large temperature swings — common in Colorado's freeze-thaw cycles.
Broken Window Tonight?
If your side or rear window was just broken, call us immediately. For same-day situations, we can advise on temporary protection (plastic sheeting, tape) to keep your vehicle secure until we can get the glass replaced. Don't leave your vehicle unsecured — call us first.
FAQ
Side & Rear Window Questions
How quickly can you replace a broken side window?
Most side window replacements are next-day. If we have your glass in stock, we can often get you in same day. Call us and we'll check availability for your specific vehicle right away.
My door window won't go up — is that a window or a regulator problem?
It could be either. A shattered or broken pane is glass-only. A window that slips, binds, or won't move with the switch is typically the regulator (the mechanical arm inside the door). We diagnose both and can replace the glass, the regulator, or both.
Will you come to my location to replace a side window?
Yes. Our mobile service covers Fort Collins, Loveland, Greeley, Windsor, and surrounding Northern Colorado communities. We bring the glass to you and complete the replacement on-site.
Is side and rear window replacement covered by insurance?
Broken glass from a covered peril (vandalism, theft, hail, road debris) is typically covered under comprehensive auto insurance, subject to your deductible. We work directly with your insurer and handle the claim paperwork.
What's the difference between tempered and laminated side glass?
Most side and rear windows use tempered glass, which shatters into small granules on impact — by design, to reduce injury. Some newer vehicles use laminated side glass for additional sound insulation and UV protection. We match the original glass type for your vehicle.
Can you replace the rear window defroster grid too?
We install OEM-equivalent rear glass with the defroster grid already embedded. Your defroster should work immediately after installation. If there's a wiring issue at the connector, we can diagnose that as well.
